Take QuizTragic news broke that the young bodybuilder Bostin Loyd passed away at 29 years old on February 25th, 2022. The official cause of death hasn’t been released yet. Loyd had returned home from the gym then passed out; paramedics performed CPR until he eventually died at the hospital. Sadly, Loyd leaves behind a loving wife and child.
Bostin Loyd had been publicly battling stage 5 kidney failure, which he announced on the RXMuscle podcast last year. Loyd was diagnosed in October of 2020, and he believed that this severe health issue resulted from using several substances to boost his bodybuilding performance.
Loyd tried to treat his kidney failure with several methods and hadn’t taken to dialysis yet. Nick Trigili of Bodybuilding & B.S. broke the story of Loyd’s tragic passing, saying that it was likely due to a heart attack resulting from the kidney failure he was battling.
Bostin Loyd from Los Angeles, California, was a controversial figure in the fitness world. At 21 years old, just after winning the NPC Contra Costa in Hayward, California, he released his full steroid cycle on his Youtube channel. This viral video made Loyd infamous in the bodybuilding community as many athletes stay quiet about their PED usage.
Both Loyd’s parents were bodybuilders, so he was used to the strict lifestyle, but when he shined a light on the darker side of the sport, he caught a lot of hate. However, he didn’t mince words when telling everyone that you won’t get the results of elite-level bodybuilders by using protein powder and creatine; steroids are a given if you want to compete at the highest levels.
In 2015 Loyd took first in the super heavyweight division at the Montanari Bros Classic. Then in his last competitive bodybuilding show, Loyd once again took first in the super heavyweight division at the 2016 NPC Kevin Gore Border Klash.
Loyd ran a website where he consulted bodybuilders, sold programs, and coached clients. He was open about experimenting with different training styles, diets, and drug regimens.
