Mateusz Kieliszkowski Withdraws from 2022 World’s Strongest Man

In just over a month, the 2022 World’s Strongest Man will take place from May 24-29 in Sacramento. Unfortunately, Mateusz Kieliszkowski has confirmed that he won’t be competing at the event. This will be the third year in a row that he’s missed the biggest event in strongman. Kieliszkowski also missed the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic in March because of this leg injury.

He decided to withdraw from the competition as he hasn’t been able to train hard enough to put himself in a place where he feels he could compete against the best in the sport. Kieliszkowski has had his share of injuries, but he continues to be one of the top contenders in the sport. We hope that he can rehab and get back to his best soon!

2022 World’s Strongest Man Lineup

The organizers of WSM haven’t confirmed who will fill Kieliszkowski’s spot. We will update the following lineup once we have news of the replacement. The lineup that will compete next month is stacked but Canadian strongman, JF Caron won’t be competing after his injury at Arnold and his subsequent talks of retirement.

Some of the top contenders this year include, Tom Stoltman who won the 2022 Britain's Strongest Man and is coming back and will try to defend his title. Other previous WSM winners include 4-time winner Brian Shaw, Martins Licis and Oleksii Novikov. Licis had a great start to the year after winning the title at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic, as well as Novikov, who’s coming off a big win at the 2022 Europe’s Strongest Man.

Below is the list of athletes scheduled to appear in alphabetical order. We will make updates to the list if/when it is necessary.
