Nathan De Asha Injury Update

April 24, 2022

A few months ago, top IFBB Pro Nathan De Asha withdrew from the 2022 Arnold Classic due to a biceps injury. What he thought was a micro tear in his left biceps turned into being more severe than he initially thought. Let’s look at Nathan De Asha’s injury update.

Nathan De Asha Update

Nathan suffered from a torn left biceps during a freak accident while playing with his son back in March. When he originally withdrew from the 2022 Arnold Classic, he said he was looking at a short recovery, but after a scan of the injury revealed that it wasn’t just a micro tear, De Asha was faced with a torn biceps. Nathan had a more serious surgery to reattach the biceps muscle.

This injury happened almost three months ago, but you would’ve never guessed it after watching his injury update. De Asha didn’t stop working out while recovering from his injury, and it shows. Nathan trained his legs hard up to four times a week, and it seems like he also trained half of his upper body to keep the muscles working and the blood flowing.

In his update, we see De Asha still moving relatively heavy loads while doing some pushing exercises and biceps curls. It definitely helped that De Asha kept working out even though he had an injured arm.

Everyone can take a page out of De Asha’s book in not skipping workouts if you don’t need to. An arm injury doesn’t mean you can’t work the legs in some capacity and/or uninjured arm as well. Always check with your physician for the best course of action when rehabbing an injury.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Nathan De Asha had a great 2021 after winning three major shows, including the Yamamoto Pro Cup, Arnold Classic UK, and the Europa Cup Championships.

We hope that within the next 8 months, De Asha can train hard and get to a place where he’s comfortable stepping onto the stage at the 2022 Olympia. De Asha has the potential to be a top contender in Olympia if he manages to get back to where he was towards the end of 2021.

We’ll be keeping an eye on De Asha as the year progresses, so stay tuned.
