Youtuber turned boxer/podcaster Logan Paul sat down with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Impaulsive podcast, where they announced the new event of Slap Fighting Championship to the 2022 Arnold Sports Festival next month. Paul and Schwarzenegger will host the event at 2pm (EST) on March 5th, 2022. So, stay tuned for this surprising addition to the already jam-packed festival.
2022 SLAP FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP ARNOLD SPORTS FESTIVAL
As if the 2022 Arnold Sports Festival needed another supreme spectacle, the Terminator did it again by upping the ante with the inclusion of the Slap Fighting Championship. Brian Powers, the executive director of Arnold Sports Festival, said that a Polish slap fighting group contacted them to pitch the idea of a slap fighting event.
Well, it looks like it came to fruition as the two mega-stars announced the Slap Fighting Championship will take place on March 5th as part of the Arnold Sports Festival. Paul said "Arnold and I are going to be presenting the Slap Fighting Championship. "You may have seen this event go viral online when two men, or two women, stand across from each other and slap the shit out of each other."
Paul mentions how slap fighting started in Russia and then made waves in Eastern Europe before becoming a viral sensation in the US. At one point, Paul was scheduled to go to Russia and enter a slap fighting competition, but he bailed last minute as he came to realize there are severe consequences to participating in this sport.
The legend Schwarzenegger chimed in, saying that "I know we're going to have a great time watching the slap competition, as long as we don't get slapped!"
The two will host this eye-catching event, and we can assume the rules will be similar to Slapstrike, a famous slap fighting league. Usually, there are three rounds where each competitor gets one chance to slap the opponent.
Then three judges score the fight based on the strike itself plus the replay. An athlete is considered knocked out if they can't continue fighting within 30 seconds of being slapped. TKO, disqualifications, and judge's scorecards are the other methods of determining the winner.

If you've never seen slap fighting, you're in for a treat, picture arm wrestling but with open hand-fisted slaps instead. It's a brutal sport, but with the rise of MMA and now bare-knuckle boxing, we'd venture to guess that the masses will enjoy this full-contact sport as well.
