From March 24th to April 24th, the 2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals take place where the top 10 percent of worldwide athletes who competed in the 2022 CrossFit Open will compete virtually in 5 workouts.

So let’s look at the 2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals 5 workouts and corresponding floorplans below.

Take Your Fitness To The Next Level

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals workouts & floorplans

The CrossFit Quarterfinals are similar to the CrossFit Open, where athletes compete in workouts to outdo the competition. The higher the rank, the lower the points; therefore, the athletes with the lowest scores will win the events. Below are the individual workouts in the 2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals with the matching floor plans.

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 1

For time to complete the following exercises:

  • 50 dumbbell walking lunges (Men: 50lb dumbbells | Women: 35lb dumbbells)
  • 30 handstand pushups
  • 40 front-rack walking lunges (Men: 50lb dumbbells | Women: 35lb dumbbells)
  • 20 deficit handstand pushups (Men: 3.5inch deficit | Women: 2-inch deficit)
  • 30 overhead walking lunges (Men: 50lb dumbbells | Women: 35lb dumbbells)
  • 10 strict handstand pushups

Time cap of 15 minutes

As you can see in the floorplan, there is a pair of dumbbells for the lunges plus the weight plate stacks that will be used for the deficit pushups. Filled with pushing exercises and lunges, this first workout is no joke.

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 2

For time to complete three rounds of the following exercises:

  • 30 alternating single-leg squats
  • 30 GHD situps
  • 10 muscle-ups

Time cap of 15 minutes

This is a brutal workout, as you can see from the floorplan with rings for muscle-ups and GHD situps. Staying at a strong, manageable pace is key to this one.

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 3

For time to complete the following exercises:

  • 8-16-24-32-24-16-8 wall ball shots (Men: 20lbs, 10 foot target | Women: 14lbs, 10 foot target)
  • 4-8-12-16-12-8-4 shuttle runs (Men: 50 feet | Women: 50 feet)
  • 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 rope climbs

Time cap of 25 minutes

The third workout requires strength and coordination with a touch of explosiveness. The wall ball shots could get tough towards the end when the athletes are gassed.

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 4

“The Other Total” where athletes will try to hit their one-rep max

  • 1 clean
  • 1 bench press
  • 1 overhead squat

Time cap of 30 minutes

This is the most straightforward of the 5 workouts. There are no two ways around this strength workout where athletes will have to push themselves to the edge. The overhead squat can be a real challenge here; endurance athletes will be at a disadvantage in this workout.

2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 5

For time to complete the following exercises:

  • 30-calorie row
  • 20 burpee box jump-overs (Men: 24 inches | Women: 20 inches)
  • 10 snatches (Men: 185lbs | Women: 135lbs)

Time cap of 7 minutes

It seems like they grouped a bunch of explosive exercises into the last workout. Expect the athletes to be sucking wind by the end of this one especially considering the time cap is only 7 minutes!
