Giants Live released the lineup for the 2022 Strongman Classic event scheduled for July 9th at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. Giants Live kept one name secret for now and have named 11 out of the 12 strongman athletes. Let’s look at the confirmed athletes below.
This year’s Strongman Classic lineup is packed with talent and includes the top three finishers from last year. Last year’s 2021 Strongman Classic was won by Oleksii Novikov, while Evan Singleton came in second with Iron Biby in third.
Novikov might have the upper hand in this competition as he’s riding the wave of momentum from his win at the 2022 Europe’s Strongest Man and his second-place finish at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic.
The list of confirmed athletes below contains both new and familiar faces. We love seeing Chieck "Iron Biby" Sanou competing in a full event. We usually see Iron Biby only appearing at strongman events to attempt to break world records, last year he came in third so we have high hopes for him this time around.
People may be wondering why the Stoltman brothers aren’t on the roster for the event this year. At the 2021 Strongman Classic, Tom came in 5th while Luke finished just behind him in 6th place. However, the Stoltman brothers have their eyes set on the grand prize of the 2022 World’s Strongest Man event just over a month away. Tom will try to defend his title while Luke will shoot his shot at winning the coveted title. The 2022 World’s Strongest Man will occur in Sacramento, California, from May 24-29th.
Giants Live spiced it up this year with the mystery wildcard spot. Next week there’ll be an announcement with the last athlete plus the event list we can expect to see the big men compete in. So, stay tuned for further updates.
Who do you think will fill in the last spot on the roster?
