Strongman Mateusz Kieliszkowski has recently dropped out of the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic set to take place on March 4-5th, 2022, in Columbus, Ohio. Kieliszkowski is the first athlete to withdraw from the 2022 ASC, unlike the Arnold Classic, which has seen 5 athletes withdraw before the competition. Check out who his replacement will be below!

Who is Mateusz Kieliszkowski?

Mateusz Kieliszkowski, AKA “The Polish Titan,” is a Polish-born strongman that has been a top contender in the sport for the past 7 years. Kieliszkowski began his strongman journey at the age of 17 when his friend organized a competition back in 2000.

In 2014 Kieliszkowski achieved his first big win by taking first at the 2014 Arnold amateur. The following year in 2015, he competed in the Arnold Strongman Classic, where he placed third.

Kieliszkowski won Poland’s Strongest Man consecutively from 2015 to 2019. He also placed second in World’s Strongest Man competition in 2018 and 2019.

In 2020 he came in second in the Arnold Strongman Classic, losing to Hafthor Bjornsson, so we were looking forward to him giving the other athletes a run for their money in this year’s event.

It’s been confirmed that the Polish strongman withdrew from this year’s competition due to an undisclosed injury. It’s too bad as the scheduled events for this year would have been in his favor. One event he was sure to dominate in was the Timber Carry, as he holds the current world record of 7 seconds set in 2020.

Kieliszkowski’s replacement is Bobby Thompson, the American strongman who is noted for his log lift prowess.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

We hate to see an athlete withdraw from such a big event at the last minute. However, this weekend is set to be one for the record books. Tom Stoltman is slated to compete after just winning 2022 Britain’s Strongest Man, as well as JF Caron, who won the 2022 Froca Bruta in Brazil.

Who do you think will stand atop the podium by the end of the weekend?
