Hitting the gym since 14, Tyler’s initial foray into lifting was a strength-based program, tailored specifically toward football. Due to his commitment to the sport, this style of training continued throughout his collegiate career, resulting in him being part of the 1,300 lb club (450lb bench, 405lb powerclean, and 500lb squat).
After college, his focus shifted more toward bodybuilding, and lifting for aesthetics rather than sheer power. This resulted in him deciding to participate in an OCB natural bodybuilding competition. With the help of his fiance (now wife of 10 years), he self-coached himself into a 2nd place finish. While the desire to compete has waned, his commitment to the iron has stayed
